Dr. Riccardo Barcucci
Graduating with honours from the University of Milan in 2005, Dr. Barcucci has dedicated his career to soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics and veterinary traumatology, with a particular focus on the most innovative techniques and comprehensive management of orthopaedic patients.
After graduating, he furthered his training at international centres of excellence such as Dick White Referrals (UK), the University of Florida (USA) and North Carolina University (USA), collaborating with world-renowned surgeons such as Prof. Antonio Pozzi and Marcelline Little.
In Italy, he continued his specialisation by attending Dr Antonio Ferretti's Veterinary Clinic (Dipl. ECVS) and the Turin Veterinary Hospital under the guidance of Prof. Paolo Buracco (Dipl. ECVS).
He completed the 2nd SCIVAC Orthopaedics and Traumatology Training Course, participating in numerous refresher courses dedicated to the most advanced orthopaedic surgery techniques, including TPLO, TTA Rapid, TTA Porosa, DPO, CBLO and prosthetic knee surgery.
In 2010, he founded SURGIFORVET, a freelance veterinary surgery service, collaborating with numerous facilities in Northern Italy to offer specialist support in orthopaedics and traumatology.
In 2015, he was a founding partner of the Città di Lecco Veterinary Clinic, where he worked until 2018.
In subsequent years, he was a speaker at national conferences and webinars on veterinary orthopaedics and traumatology and a founding member of the Italian Veterinary Orthopaedic Association (AOVI), which later became international.
Since 2025, he has been a councillor for SITOV (Italian Society of Veterinary Traumatology and Orthopaedics).
He also gained international professional experience working as a freelance orthopaedic surgeon in Tenerife (Spain) between 2018 and 2019.
